Meet Founder, Dr. Vincent D’Ascoli
The Only Board-Certified Invisalign® Provider & Top 1% in Lake Tahoe & Northern Nevada
Coming out of my orthodontic residency in 1981, I was filled with excitement about the positive changes I could make for my patients. Now, more than 30 years later, I still get up in the morning and look forward to the joy on a patient’s face as the braces come off and we all marvel at the changes!
Through the years, I’ve treated many different people, from rock stars to local soccer stars, and they all have a story to tell, along with a common desire to have a confident and healthy smile. The expression of gratitude always comes as a surprise because I am the one who is grateful for the opportunity to create a beautiful smile. When a mom thanks me for the OrthoBus, and how it helps her and her children not to miss work and school, it’s a huge win for us both! I can honestly say that I’m excited to get up every morning and do what I do.

Orthodontics has been a dynamic field, with constant technological advances. Having decades of experience, I feel that I’m at the top of my game. Professional Affiliations
Interdisciplinary treatment involves working together with our patients’ family dentist and other specialists to provide optimum care. As the founder/director of the Alpenglow Study Club, I am able to keep up on all facets of dentistry. Our office hosts monthly meetings for the dental community to share knowledge and brainstorm on challenging cases. I am also an active member of several other organizations, including:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics
- Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists
- Northern Nevada Dental Society
- American Dental Association
A board-certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has been voluntarily examined by his or her peers on the basis of knowledge and clinical skills. Becoming board certified signifies the orthodontist’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.
To become board-certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board-certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years to maintain board-certified status.
Outside The Office
Growing up in New York City, I always dreamed of having a small ranch. As a kid, I loved going to the rodeo and watching Westerns on TV and the movies. Every day, I get the chance to live in the real Old West. It sounds cliché, but I love this rural life where I can practice the profession that I love and truly enjoy, and in my spare time go skiing, hiking, sailing, and take advantage of all the other amazing outdoor activities this area has to offer. There’s no place like Tahoe!
My family is the center of my life. My daughter Kristyn grew up in Tahoe and now lives in Austin, TX with her husband Ryan and my two beautiful granddaughters, Ashlynn and Kendall Rose.
Life on a ranch wouldn’t be complete without the animals. I have Teddy, a Goldendoodle, and two German shorthaired pointers named Willy and Eva. The ponies are named Chippy, Dusty, Majic, and Chavella. To round out this menagerie is Sheeba and the 60 Shetland sheep (yup, I said 60!) and Mariah and Pietor, the guardian llamas.
In The Community
Aside from my work, my family, and all the animals, it’s also important for me to be involved in the community. My office has donated seven marquee signs to our local schools and we sponsor numerous sports and family and academic endeavors, such as the Incline Star Follies, Movies in the Park, Carson Valley Days, and the Sierra Nevada Ballet. I also belong to the Flying Samaritans, a group of physicians, dentists, nurses, and allied health professionals who provide care to indigent farm workers on the Baja Peninsula.
All in all, I have a busy, full life, and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
